Psychology is involved with this issue because even child abuse is used in mental and emotional areas. This issue falls into the developmental area of psychology. Child abuse can affect the way a child grows and leave permanent disorders or psychological diseases such as PTSD, depression, or anxiety. This can cause even more psychological damage than there was before and severely change the way the victim views themselves. The fact that child abuse and neglect cause even more issues that would keep the child or adult survivor from living a normal life simply creates an even larger need to end this issue now. Effects from abuse can include but are not limited to eating disorders like anorexia or bulimia, mental disorders like post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety, or the victim could be lead to self-harm. These issues take what horrible things that have already been done to these people and intensify it and many could reach their breaking point. Not only will child abuse or neglect cause awful outcomes but many victims are killed by this abuse whether it be because the physical abuse went too far, or the neglect occurred so often that they didn’t have access to food or were too young to feed themselves. The rates for deaths caused by abuse are only increasing and will continue to do so until something is done about it
